Black White & Red Corset

My new corset is done! It's very similar looking to last years corset, but it has been significantly better made. I was inspired to improve the structure of my corset after reading this Lingerie Addict post about telling the difference between a well made corset and a cheap corset. I wanted mine to be as proper and luxurious as possible, so I took some advice about proper corset making from the article.

This corset is made out of organic cotton sateen and has metal boning, a longer busk, reinforced eyelets, an red organic cotton sateen lining, pleated repurposed ribbon at the bottom, contrasting top stitching around the busk, and a slightly more exaggerated figure than last year's corset.

The corset is now available to buy on my Etsy shop.

  2. Thanks! It was a very inspiring article! And thank you for having such an articulate post that highlighted the differences so distinctly and informatively. The contrasts in fabrics have always been very apparent to me, but having every aspect dissected was really helpful. :)
